Our Story

Steve Burgess, the inventor of the patented technology licensed by Swing Advantage, LLC, is a fitness facility owner and has been a personal performance coach for over 20 years. Over the past several years, golfers have been seeking Steve's advice and specific training exercises to improve their golf game. A key fitness training aid for golfers is the resistance flex band. The flex band is used to create angled paths of resistance at both the point of addressing the ball and during the swing rotation. The band resistance allows golfers to feel the contraction dynamics to the body and allow the body to make natural adjustments. The objective of the Swing Advantage training system is to educate the muscles used in the golf swing and sustain that feel through muscle memory (which is essential to building a powerful and repeatable golf swing). Steve saw tremendous results with his students and set out to build a portable training device that would replicate the same flex band drills he used in the gym. The challenge was to build a product that comfortably attached to the body, without interfering with the natural swing motion while physically hitting golf shots. Through testing, it was apparent that the connection points of the band was going to be from the thigh to the end of the golf club with the band connected laterally across the hips at the address position. This would achieve the balance needed and create contraction dynamics to the golf swing. Extensive two-year field testing has been performed under the watchful eye of PGA professionals.
